INURAI (ee-noo-rye) is the intersection of Inu (Japanese for dog) and my family name, Hirai.

Based in the Bay Area, the brand was born from a simple problem: I was an "over-the-top" dog mom to two rescues, Mushu and Short Rib, but I couldn’t find matching gear that fit my aesthetic. I wanted high-quality streetwear that celebrated my Japanese American heritage and Nor Cal roots, not just generic pet store patterns.

After years of "someday," I finally took a sabbatical to start my journey to make it happen.
